Aurora is recruiting a Vice President of Medical Cannabis Business Development to join our Toronto office. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing strategic sales plans, establishing and sourcing company sales and for initiating sales growth as we expand our business and increase production. The VP of Medical Cannabis Business Development will be accustomed to developing relationships with key stakeholders and partners both internal and external within the industry to promote Aurora’s objectives. This position will report to the Chief Global Business Development Officer.


  • Developsales plans in support of organization strategy and objectives
  • Design and implement sales objectives and best-in-class strategies (including sales forecasting, planning, contract execution, and budgeting processes) in alignment with overall corporate planning cycles and objectives
  • Ensure that communications are coordinated, that they support sales plan objectives, and meet organizational expenditure requirements in conjunction with the VP of Marketing
  • Recommendand implement sales strategies for improvement based on market research and competitor analysis
  • Manage multiple channel selling strategies
  • Directing global market research, product planning, and inventory and sales forecasting in order to plan and facilitate the strategic direction of company products and contribute to the overall assessment of product feasibility, competitive positioning, and revenue expectations.
  • Reviewing sales results to ensure established targets are being achieved and take corrective action where required, including revising strategies, expanding territorial coverage, dealing with specific performance problems, and other actions required in order to achieve projected targets.
  • Plan and conduct sales presentations
  • Build manage, support, develop and mentor team to drive efficiency and productivity
  • Develop and build strong relationships which includes applicable government agencies, various internal and external stakeholders and industry networks
  • Manage multiple projects ensuring efficient timely delivery of project milestones


  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or other related fields
  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to efficiently and productively communicate both orally and in writing
  • Strong leadership skills with an ability to set a vision, to lead change, and to lead/mentor others
  • Strong management skills including performance management, planning, prioritization, objective setting and plan execution. Ability to organize, structure and staff an organization in a rapidly changing environment
  • Forward thinker with the ability to identify, synthesize and act upon strategic information and changes within the environment while managing multiple projects efficiently
  • Strong business acumen
  • Self-starter motivated to drive continuous improvement and innovation through dedication and hard work
  • Successful experience with new market development and penetration
  • Proven track record of creating a culture of success and ongoing global business and goal achievement
  • Competency with MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint
