Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for General Office Clerks for a variety of temporary positions that may become available on a short term/long term (up to one year), sporadic basis at our Darlington Nuclear station, Pickering Nuclear station, various satellite offices throughout the Durham region as well as Toronto and Etobicoke locations. OPG’s General Office Clerks provide clerical support to departments in cases of work overload, vacation, special projects or position vacancies. Assignments are typically 35 hours per week and employees are placed/interviewed for positions based on availability, security clearance, qualifications and skills. Temporary assignments can vary from 2 weeks to up to 1 year. To meet the challenges of this dynamic opportunity, you must have:
  • A minimum of two years' experience in general office procedures to carry out file maintenance activities, associated records functions, and conventional office administration;
  • Expertise in diverse roles such as records management, clerical and data entry;
  • Proficiency in documentation processing;
  • Experience in traditional clerical functions, such as secretarial and general office administration;
  • Keyboard skills with a minimum accurate typing speed of 40 accurate words per minute; and
  • Advanced proficiency in software applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) is also essential. (Microsoft 2010)
  • A flexible, team-oriented attitude.
  • OPG is a highly-unionized working environment. Many of our currently available positions are represented by the Power Workers' Union.
