Reporting to the Executive Director, Algonquin College Foundation, the incumbent is responsible for the oversight and coordination of administrative support to the Executive Director and the Foundation Board of Directors.
Additionally, the incumbent is responsible for providing coordination between the Executive Director and the Algonquin College leadership team, committees and liaison with key community donors, leaders and stakeholders. The incumbent is accountable for the day to day management of the Foundation office by organizing office operations and procedures, correspondence and designing and maintaining Foundation filing systems and logistical support.
As the first point of contact for the Foundation, the incumbent is responsible for answering or directing inquires in person, by email or phone from students, alumni, staff, donors and the community.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum two (2) year diploma in Office Administration or equivalent education;
  • Minimum five (5) years administrative assistant experience with progressive movement to supporting and reporting to senior management;
  • Intermediate knowledge and experience with Windows, Office Suites, SharePoint, email and calendar software applications;
  • Experience working with boards, committees and community leaders;
  • Experience in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment;
  • Ability to manage multiple conflicting demands and deadlines;
  • Must possess strong coordination skills and attention to detail;
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, both spoken and written, to communicate effectively with the public, in person or by telephone;
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team;
  • Excellent listening and interpersonal skills;
  • Respect for confidentiality;
  • Must possess tact and diplomacy to work with volunteers and donors.
