The function of this role is to provide direct support to the Operations Manager, Superintendent and lead Planner to shop; ensure that non-motor service is able to meet delivery targets. Working with shop personnel (foreman / Lead hands) and customers to create solutions for their motor requirements ensuring a smooth rebuild process.  

** This position is a 12 month maternity leave coverage **


Reports to: Manager, Operations

Shift: Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day

Location: Edmonton Branch

Relocation: This position does not offer relocation.


  • Non-OE motor quoting/budgetary quoting and service reports
  • Invoicing all Non-OE services
  • Time entry, post all time cards into Kronos system, ensure all LOA forms are singed and vacation calendar is maintained
  • Requisitions for the motor shop and Warehouse  
  • Complete Shop Monthly Reports (OTD, QMS, Cycle Time, Labour Backlog)
  • Compile Monthly OpEx Reports for Edmonton Facility and post to white boards
  • Ad-Hoc reports/projects/some data entry excel/Word to support the shop as requested by Ops. Manager
  • Filing all shop motor/service jobs, maintaining the cabinets and rotating them out as per Joy Global’s document retention policy
  • Back up to the note taker for several meetings
  • Opening incoming jobs in SAP, filling out work orders, printing test sheets, WIP sheets, SAP travelers, creating confirmation codes
  • Manage and maintain Service performance metrics 
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to reduce operating costs within your job functions
  • Support and document Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Assisting/Maintaining Ops. Managers filing system
  • Weekly costing reports Mechanical Foreman and Ops. Manager to review
  • Office supplies inventory for Service Office
  • Invoicing all non-OE jobs
  • Develop and sustain good working relationships with coworkers
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Proficient in MS. Word; Excel and outlook
  • SAP Experience is an asset
