Job Summary

DREAMS provides efficient, courteous and compassionate transportation service that recognizes the value of all Albert ans, particularly individuals with special and diverse learning needs. This hybrid role is integral to the success of our business. Part dispatch, part office assistant and part scheduler, you will be providing organizational support to our leadership and front-line roles. Based out of our convenient North-East location, we offer a friendly, professional environment where fun is a priority. This opportunity offers variety in your day and job satisfaction at night.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide exceptional customer service to our clients through our inbound phone and email contacts.
  • Provide sales quotes and information to potential customers.
  • Responsible for the primary scheduling and routing for DREAMS using our busHive software.
  • Maintain dispatch communication via portable hand-held radio to our team members throughout the day.
  • Complete and assist with administration duties such as employee information updates, invoicing, information tracking, etc.
  • Provides support To Route Drivers and Attendants.
  • Resolves customer service or passenger issues through effective decision-making.
  • Coordinates work activities with Team Leads and Management to ensure business goals are met.
  • Liaise with schools and caregivers for route or scheduling changes.
  • Responsible for day-to-day application of, and adherence to, policies and procedures.
  • Complies with all company & government regulations, laws & policies.
  • Various other duties as requested.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Two years’ admin experience in a customer service environment
  • Two years’ experience with scheduling/routing practices in the transportation industry
  • Demonstrated communication skills with all levels of management and staff
  • Conflict resolution experience.
  • Proactively identify problems and opportunities in each situation.
  • Demonstrate tact, diplomacy, confidentiality, discretion and sound judgment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience supporting individuals with special and diverse learning needs will be considered an asset.
  • The successful completion of a Police background is a condition of employment, at the applicant’s expense.
  • Intermediate knowledge level of Microsoft Office products such as Outlook and Excel.

Working conditions

Hours of Work: Our hours of operation are Mon-Fri 9am-5:30pm.

Occasional on call work may be required, which consists of manning a portable hand-held radio to ensure bus driver check out and provide support as needed, for evenings and weekends.

Starting salary is $20 per hour.
